Wide Awake

August 15th. The Wedding. Onika Tanya Maraj-Samuels & Safaree Lloyd Samuels.

Nicki woke up from her dream, breathing heavily. Sweat at a maximum. It was just a dream. 

Why would she have a dream like that? Who knows. Lately her dreams have been all over the place. 

She felt something move. 

It was Safaree's arms. He put them around her & kissed her head.

She turned around & kissed him passionately.

"Today's the day..." he said, with a koolaid smile on his face.

She stared deeply into his eyes.

His heart began to melt. She was so adorable, he couldn't help but love it.

"Oh Nicki.. why do you keep doing this to me?"

She laughed & got up from the bed.

She headed to the bathroom, brushed her teeth & got in the shower.

"God... Thank You!" he paused for a second.

"I'm gonna be the best husband & father possible that I can be. I couldn't ask for a better life. I really do appreciate you, incase I don't say it enough." SB prayed & thanked The Lord for all of the wonderful blessings in his life.

It's like all his prayers have been answered, although he damn well doesn't pray often. 

"Awwww." Jelani said, walking in on SB.

SB just ignored.

"Nah really man, I'm really happy for you guys. I feel like this is long overdue. My sister is marrying the guy she's loved for basically her whole life. You two are good for eachother man. You do good for her, she do good for you & you two will be alright." Jelani said.

SB was shocked. He's never seen Jelani in a serious mode before.

"Thanks man.."

"Boys... Boys...." Mama Carol came in the room interrupting.

"Yes mama" they both said.

She smiled.

"It's time for all the men to leave & go to the hotel room. Y'all know it's bad luck to be here anyway." she said.

"Fine.." Jelani said.

"Jelani, give us a minute." Mama Carol wanted to have a private conversation with Safaree.

Jelani went to the room next door & woke up Micaiah.

Mama Carol closed the door & went to sit down on the edge of the bed next to Safaree.

She looked at him for a few seconds & then began to speak.

"W... words can't even explain how thrilled I am for you two today. The day's finally come. I can't believe my little girl is going on & getting married. I would always dream of this day to come. I'm even more happy that you're the man she's giving her heart to. I know you truly love her & would never do anything to intentionally hurt her. I'm so proud of you Safaree." with that she hugged Safaree & walked out the room.

Safaree sat their in his thoughts.

5pm.

The wedding was set to begin in 2 more hours at 7 o'clock.

Joyce & Terrence had just arrived to Nicki's house to begin the process.

Time seemed to be flying by today.

Nicki sat down in her chair & Joyce began the process. Lashes, arch brows,eye liner, lip gloss, etc.

Nicki was going for a more soft, more natural look today.

Within 40 minutes Joyce was completely done & it was now time for Terrence to work that magic.

"Terrence!!!! Get yo ass up here & stop hoggin' my gyaaattt damn fridge."

20 seconds later.

Terrence walked into the room with chocolate all around his mouth.

"Ummm... Dafuq? Aren't you forgetting something?"

Nicki & Joyce laughed.

"What?" T said, all confused.

"Look in the mirror." Joyce said.

"Oh....." T said.

He quickly wiped the fudge off & washed his hands & began.

Nicki wasn't wearing a wig today, she was rocking her real hair.

Terrence started curling it.

"So Mrs. Samuels... how does it feel?" T said.

She side eyed him.

"Oh don't front on me now honey." he said.

She smirked.

"It feels great. I'm finally getting what I want & that's marrying my one love." she couldn't think of anything else to say besides that. She'll just save her emotions for the vows.

"NICKI!!!" Mama Carol came barging in the room.
