Right By My Side 2.0

SB had been escorted out of the theater by police into the back of the cop car in hand cuffs. They would take him down to the precinct & see what they'll do with him from there. He knew he was in for a hard time with these cops, seeing as how the cops were being racist to the max right now. He knew he couldn't go off on them because they had the power to do whatever the hell they pleased.

At the police station:


"So..... who was this Onika girl to you? Were you here pimp or one of her "baby daddy's" or something like that?" he said, with air quotes while saying baby daddy.


"WHAT?!" SB said.


"You heard me... So tell me... was Onika a dirty girl?" the officer said. Safaree wanted to get up & beat that ass so bad, but he was handcuffed.


"No, Nicki's not even like that. . . Nicki's a girl with class & respect for herself, I'd appreciate it if you'd stop thinking just because we're black that we live that type of lifestyle. We gucci on this side, officer." he said, in the calmest tone he could.


"You don't have to lie, lying will just end you in jail." the officer said.


"NOBODY'S LYING" Safaree yelled.


"By the color of your skin I can tell you are. You good for nothing niggers always lie lie lie & kill."


Safaree had enough & spat in his face. That was all he could really do.

Nicki was just overwhelmed & tired. At this point, she was just ready to be back home with SB & have everything go back to normal. She was annoyed, sad, angry..... mixed with all the emotions you could think of.


It didn't help with how tight these ropes were tied to her. Her wrists were now bleeding & cut open her skin somehow. She would scream, but what help would that bring? Safaree wasn't there to help her or anything.

One of Drake's minions, Damion, walked into the room. He just sat there & watched Nicki, with no emotion on his face yet plenty of guilt on his conscience. He was beginning to feel bad for her. He knew Nicki for about 5 months now & knew she was a real sweetheart. She didn't deserve this, just because Drake wanted her. This wasn't the way at all. But for his boy Drake, he would do anything.


After about 5 minutes...

"Why are you doing this?" Nicki blurted out, trying to put an end to the awkward silence & staring. 

"What?" he said.

"Why are you apart of this? I know you Damion & you're not this evil."

He remained silent, knowing she was right. He felt like such a dickhead. Nicki was basically his little sister & he betrayed her like this. :(

"Oh so you just let Drake tell you what to do? Wow... I thought you had a mind of your own boo. I guess you never really know a person, huh?" Nicki said. She was trying to get deep inside his head & brainwash him. It was working.

"You don't understand......" he said. Nicki was surprised, she was beginning to think he had lost his voice.

"Well then explain it to me, because I just really can't seem to understand this at all."

"I . . . . .  I . . . Look, Drake's my boy & I got him for anything, but this . . . is just cruel & wrong." Damion said.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Nic said.

"I'm gonna let you free, I'll deal with Drake on my own, he can't beat me anyway" he said.

"Well who can Drake beat? Let's be honest.." Nicki said, they both laughed.

He untied her from the ropes & let her go.

"So no hard feelings?" Damion said.

" I dont know.... you guys have been pretty harsh...."

"Oh...." he was kind of sad.

"Just kidding" Nicki said, while laughing.

Drake walked in.

He looked like he had been half eaten by a tiger in the jungle. His eyes were bloodshot red with huge black spots around them, his lip was busted open & it looks like he was stabbed in the neck too.

Nicki laughed, Drake got what he deserved.

"What's going on here?" Drake asked, mean mugging Damon.

"Drake, the girl does not want you, get it through your head. You can't do this! You're gonna get in a great amount of trouble for this." Damion said.

"Well, if I'm going to jail I might as well go for a reason."

Drake whipped out his gun & pulled the trigger.

Damion jumped in front of Nicki, putting his own life at risk. He shot Damion.

Damion dropped to the floor now, unconscious. Drake had shot him close enough to the heart.

Nicki dropped down to the floor as well in tears. How could Drake have done this to his boy? Drake is one fucked up individual. Nicki just couldn't believe Damion jumped in front of a bullet for her. That's real love right there! Nicki would owe him a lifetime! 

Drake ran out of the warehouse, speeding off in his car.

"Damion....... just hold in, we'll get you some help soon! Everything's gonna be okay, just.... don't.......... die" After saying & thinking about him dying made her breakdown. Damion was a brother to her, on some real shit.

Safaree had just gotten out of the precinct. They only left him in overnight & set a court date for later in the month.

He received a text.

Hospital, St. Vincent Medical Center now. EMERGENCY!!!

It was from an anonymous number, so he assumed it was one of Drake's people.

"Oh shit, NICKI!!!!!" he ran right through the traffic, not even giving a fuck that it was green light. The hospital was only 2 blocks away, luckily. He ran those 2 blocks like he was in the relay race championships. 

At hospital now. He runs up to the front desk.

"Excuse me ma'am." Safaree was so out of breath from all that running. The lady meanwhile was having a conversation with her friend, laughing & all.

"I said excuse me." The lady ignored again.

"BITCH DO U NOT FUCKING HEAR ME TALKING TO YOU!!! DON'T MAKE ME SET IT THE FUCK OFF IN THE PLACE, I'M TRYING TO ASK YOU FOR HELP & YOUR UGLY ASS IS HERE LAUGHING IT UP ON TH..."

"Safaree......"

"Nicki?" SB turned around.

"FAREEEEE!!!!" Nicki ran to him& jumped in his arms.

Nicki was now in tears. She missed this man so much, not just any man, HER man. This was her king. Her roc. Her everything she needs! Her fire! Nothing could replace this moment they had right now. Being back in his arms was the best feeling in the world. She felt at ease & safe once again & she hadn't felt that in a while.

Safaree was in tears as well. Safaree was never one to cry about things, but with Nicki, he didn't need to hold a front, he could be himself. Just when he was about to give up, this happens. He would never leave Nicki's side. This is where he belonged, this is where she belonged. Nothing could get in the way between them, NOTHING.

After about 10 minutes, he put Nicki back down on the floor & wiped her tears. He couldn't believe he had her back. That was definitely a wake up call for Safaree & Nicki that they needed, to realize what they have. They were perfect for eachother.

"Faree . . . I'll be right back, I have to go check on something." Nicki ran to Damion's room & checked on him. He finally woke up! Nicki was ecstatic! She ran in & hugged him.

Later in the night.

Maybe it was kind of weird that Nicki would head right back to the studio after all that happened, but she wanted to express something that couldn't just be expressed in words. Her music fully expressed her. This was a dedication to Safaree. This wasn't the first song she had written about him, but the vibe about this one is just so bubbly & cute & just what she wants to show Safaree. She felt she NEEDED to show this side to Safaree after all. This song didn't just describe their relationship now. It described how she's been feeling for Safaree ever since they were kids.

The beat dropped.

Half way through recording the song in the booth, more of an emotional feeling popped up in her mind. How could she get any more emotional than she already felt?

As she sang the words " I cant eat I I I I, I can't sleep I I I I, what I need I I I I is you right by my side" she knew she was inlove with Safaree Lloyd Samuels. This was the message she was trying to get out to him. 

She went off & poured out her soul!!!!!!!
